On October 17 at 6:30 pm, Lely High School will host its 3rd Annual Dig Pink Match. This year the Trojans will play the Stingrays of Seacrest Country Day in what has become the biggest game of the season. In 2010, more than 500 people attended the match and over $1000 was raised.
Last fall, approximately 700 individuals attended, and the team managed to raise nearly $2000 for the cause. This year, we anticipate somewhere between 800 and 1000 in attendance while we have set a goal of raising over $3000.
Please join us in our efforts to fight against Breast Cancer. On October 17, all of the money made from the concession stands and t-shirt sales (special shirts sold for $10 each) along with half of the gate receipts will be donated to the Side-Out Foundation, an organization that has partnered with volleyball teams worldwide in efforts to increase awareness and raise funds to fight Breast Cancer. If you would like to make a donation on our behalf, please go to www.side-out.org/cb/ous/team/7151. We will also be collecting donations at the volleyball game on October 17 and the football game on October 19.
The cost for the volleyball match is $2 for students and $4 for adults. Individuals will be given the opportunity to make an additional donation of $1 for a pink breast cancer ribbon. Please contact Head Coach Daniel Selvey email@example.com. We hope to see you there, and, of course, remember to wear pink!
