Spend a day on the links Saturday, October 11th at the Island Country Club, the “crown jewel” of Southwest Florida’s celebrated golfing community. The 2nd Annual Golf Tournament for the Arts, a fund-raiser for the Marco Island Center for the Arts, begins with a luncheon in the clubhouse at noon and a shotgun start at 1 pm. The cost is $125 per player and includes lunch, cart and green fees. All golfers are welcome!
“This is our second golf tournament supporting the Center for
the Arts,” said Aris Petropoulos Tournament Chairman and Member of the Board. “It is also a day of fun for all players regardless of skill levels. So join us and try your luck at this beautiful club.” The championship course is renowned for its beautifully sculpted and generous fairways, surrounded by lush tropical flowers, foliage and “Florida white” bunkers. Past resident pros have included such notable golfers as “Champagne” Tony Lema and “Squire” Gene Sarazen.
Form your own foursome or let event organizers do
it for you. “Several prizes are planned, including some beautiful art by local artists,” according to Petropoulos, “with several opportunities to win them such as best team, gross and net scores, longest drive, closest to the pin and a putting contest to start the day.” This year’s grand prize for a hole in one (on the 13th) is a 2-year lease for a Mercedes-Benz compliments of Mercedes-Benz of Naples.
Hole sponsorships are still available. For additional information or to register, please contact the Center for the Arts at 239-394-4221. Join us for a great outing and a fun day.
