Send Us Your Nominee’s Story
The American Cancer Society continuously works to raise funds in the fight against cancer. These funds are used to provide medical research in the quest for a cure and support for all those touched by this dreadful disease.
Caregivers for those who have been diagnosed with cancer are an integral part of the road to recovery. Caregivers provide love and support at a time when they are needed the most.
The Marco Island unit of the American Cancer Society wishes to honor these caregivers. This year they will recognize one such caregiver with a special award. The award will be presented at the Relay For Life of Marco Island to be held on April 9, 2016 from 10 AM until 10 PM at beautiful Mackle Park. The Relay For Life of Marco Island, presented by Robert J. Flugger, is a celebration of life! What better way is there to celebrate life than to honor one who has nurtured life at its most fragile moment?
If you know someone who has provided caregiving support to someone with a diagnosis of cancer, please send us the story. This support could have been during a patient’s cancer treatment or even in the time after treatment has ended. A cancer survivor’s life is forever changed with their diagnosis. Ongoing support is such a critical part of their lives. Your nominee could be an individual, a family, or a specific group of individuals.
Please send your story to Sue.Olszak@cancer.org or mail your entry to the American Cancer Society, 583 Tallwood St., Suite 101, Marco Island, FL 34145, Attention: Caregiver’s Award. All submissions must be received by March 29. For more information call 239-642-8800.
