All members of the community are invited to attend the 2015 Arbor Day Tree Planting Ceremony to be held at 10 AM on Friday, Jan. 16, at Mackle Park near the parking lot entrance.

The ceremony will include singing performances by 130 Tommie Barfield Elementary third-grade students, musical performances by the Marco Island Charter Middle School Jazz Band and a display of Arbor Day posters created by TBE artists.

The Tree Blessing will be done by Rev. Kyle Bennett of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, and guest speakers will include City Manager Roger Hernstadt and City Council Chairman Larry Sacher. Special guests will include members of the City Council, the VFW Post 6370 and the American Legion Post 404.

The tree selected for the 2015 Arbor Day Ceremony, a Golden Trumpet, will be provided and planted by Affordable Landscape Service and Design.
