On Thursday morning, 05-06-10, at 9.45 AM, Marco Island Fire Department responded to an accident at the intersection of Barfield and 6th Ave. A man sustained injuries when his motorcycle was struck by a car. Traffic was held up for more than one hour as emergency responders tended to the injured motorcyclist.

CERT, or  Community Emergency Response Team, is part of Homeland Security and an important partner with the local fire & rescue departments.
