The Naples Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) honored Corrections Sgt. Kristin Shiner of the Collier County Sheriff’s Office for her successful efforts to persuade a man who allegedly shot and killed another man in his driveway to give up his gun. Sgt. Shiner was awarded the Medal for Heroism after risking her personal safety in order to protect the lives of others.
