A season of “Joy”

CBN_A5feature

TO YOUR HEALTH  C. Scott Campbell  [email protected] he holiday season represents a renewed sense of personal reflection to many and a focus on joy and celebration to even more. A time when the media and public consciousness seems to center on the “joy” of the season as each of us finds ourselves emotionally moved by demonstrations of care and compassion— on television, at home, and in our communities. “Joy” seems to be everywhere. Though the concept of joy takes on a profoundly impactful meaning this time of year, the joy of serving the patient population is our very purpose at Physicians ... Read More »

Shops of Marco Welcomed Santa!

SantaFeature

By Coastal Breeze News Staff The Shops of Marco were filled with hundreds of holiday revelers as they awaited Santa’s annual visit the day after Thanksgiving. The annual Christmas Island Style celebration is a child’s first opportunity to see Santa and that indeed, Christmas is fast approaching. (Santa often keeps his reindeer home to reserve their energy for the big night.) The crowd lined up along the parking lot as they heard Santa’s helicopter overhead. A parent held his sons hand, “Santa flew in all the way from the North Pole.” “No,” said the boy, “he’s coming from New York. ... Read More »

At Physicians Regional-Collier Boulevard, performance at our hospital begins and ends with our people—our Associates in conjunction with our medical staff. Women’s health focus must be ongoing

TO YOUR  HEALTH  C. Scott Campbell  [email protected] October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Originally launched in 1985, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month began as a partnership between the American Cancer Society and the pharmaceutical division of Imperial Chemical Industries. Initially, this focus on breast health was conceived to promote mammography as the most effective weapon in the fight against breast cancer—a goal that remains as relevant today is it did in 1985. About one in eight U.S. women (just under 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. However, to those of us in the ... Read More »

Physicians Regional’s coming to town

CEO Scott Campbell made the announcement that the 8,200 square foot facility will be located in the Shops of Marco (The “Big Publix” shopping center). Mr. Campbell, flanked by Ken Warriner, Chief Financial Officer, Dr. ... Read More »

Letter to the editor: Larry Sacher

As a Registered Voter on Marco Island (and Candidate for Marco Island City Council), your recent article regarding the Press Conference announcing Physician’s Regional opening a walk-in clinic on Marco and discussion of the Referendum did not include some “key elements” that all Voters need to know about the Referendum. There are actually 2 issues, but unfortunately, the way the Referendum is structured, they are co-mingled and the Voters of Marco I’m afraid will be unintentionally confused. The first issue is the Referendum: this was rushed through by an announcement on Friday, June 1st of a Special Called Council Meeting ... Read More »
