By Coastal Breeze News Staff  Programming offered by the City of Marco Island Parks and Rec Department just got more mobile thanks to the generosity of the Meyer family. In a discussion with Mindy Matusiak, Recreation Manager at the park, Paul Meyer learned they could use a vehicle for transporting those signed up for their programs. Paul discussed it with his family and after an exhaustive search, a 2001 15 passenger Ford Van was on its way. The Walk showcased nine tableaus set up along the pathway at Mackle Park. A ‘tableau’ is a representation of a picture or scene, by one or more persons suitably costumed and posed. The Arts Afire committee could not have chosen a more beautiful day for the event. The Marco Players Theater, dubbed “The best little theater in Southwest Florida”, is located in the Marco Town Center Mall shopping center. The Marco Players began in the 1970s as a children’s play-reading group, and then evolved into The Marco Island Players as a for-profit theater.
