By Jane A. Marlowe The Relay For Life committee met Tuesday evening, January 22, in the boardroom of Keller Williams Realty. Relay Chair, Raul Medina, of SunTrust Bank called the meeting to order and recognized Donna Cottrell of Keller Williams who is chair of Teams for Relay, which will be held on the Charter Middle School campus on April 13, 2013. To date there are 20 paid teams including several on-line teams. Donna recognized a number of committee members whose teams have achieved top fundraising goals in the last several weeks. Fireworks for the Fourth

By Coastal Breeze News Staff  The beaches on Marco Island will be packed with residents and tourists alike on the Fourth of July. They will come by foot, by car and by boat. Thanks to a group of hardworking volunteers, Marco Island will have a spectacular Independence Day celebration. The Fireworks Fund Committee consisting of Sandi Reidemann, Keith Dameron and Joey Oliverio, was pleased to announce to City Council they met their goal for this year’s sky spectacular. The weather was perfect; Cocktails on the veranda of the Marco Island Marriott Resort, watching the sunset, couldn’t have been choreographed more beautifully (even for those who are so spoiled when it comes to gulf views). Marjorie Seltzer and Elena Rosner Fink, founders of the congregation, will be honored at the event along with the founding members who supported them in their amazing determination to start a Jewish house of worship on Marco. Their names will not be found on a list of celebrities, or among a roster of CEO’s from Fortune 500 companies. However, Chiquita Clemmons and her daughters, Lateria and Kayci, were certainly treated like stars and received celebrity service at Marco Island’s beautiful Marriott Resort.
