Collier County Public Library received a $27,000 grant to teach computer skills to job-seeking individuals who have little or no experience with electronic resources. The grant was awarded under the Library Services and Technology Act, from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Florida Department of State’s Division of Library and Information Services. Collier County Library is using the grant to fund Collier Connects, a series of 49 hands-on computer skills training classes, at the East Naples, Estates, and Immokalee Branch Libraries. Smash and Grab Warning
On 09/25/12, between 2pm and 8pm, six vehicle burglaries were reported to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in the East Naples area of Collier County. Several commonalities existed in each of the reported incidents: All vehicles had smashed driver or passenger windows. All vehicles had purses or wallets removed. Witnesses in two incidents described a white SUV possibly a Ford Explorer. In one incident the victim’s vehicle had damage as well as a white paint transfer, possibly from the Explorer listed above. The fees for the SunPass will increase to $2.75 and with cash the fare will be $3.00.
