Return from Exile

Return from Exile is an exhibition featuring top Native American artists of Southeastern tribal affiliation working today. Now on display at the main museum in downtown Naples at 3331 Tamiami Trail, all works included in the show address the themes of Removal, Return and Resilience.  Artwork is a variety of two-dimensional paintings, printmaking and drawings; and three-dimensional objects (sculpture, ceramics and basketry).   Featured artists:   Roy Boney Jr. (Cherokee)                                            Bobby C. “Painting is like a Journey” Naples Depot Museum features the Artwork of Heidi Schmitz

The Naples Depot Museum is delighted to host Painting is like a Journey, paintings by local and international artist Heidi Schmitz, on display from Nov. 5 through Dec. 30, 2014. Sponsored by Friends of the Collier County Museums, the opening wine and cheese reception is free to the public and will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Born in Munich, Germany, Heidi Schmitz teaches in her studio and the Peoples University of Munich, using colors and techniques that reflect a European flair not commonly found in North America. The Marco Island Historical Museum presents Rob Storter’s “Artwork of the Everglades”, an illustrated guide to the Everglades history.  The exhibit runs from Sept. 2, to Oct. 31, 2014 and will include an opening reception onTuesday, Sept. 2, 5-7 p.m., hosted by the Marco Island Historical Society.  Light refreshments will be served and admission is offered at no cost. The Museum of the Everglades will also honor Storter with the exhibit, “History of Fishing in the Glades through the Eyes of Rob Storter”.  The display will take place through September and include a reception on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 1-3 p.m. at the Museum of the Everglades. Marco Island Center for the Arts


By Natalie Strom Artwork abounds at the Marco Island Farmers Market. Every Wednesday, from 7:30 AM until 2:00 PM, a mix of Florida’s finest artists set up booths amidst florists, food vendors, and vegetable stands at Veterans Park. A part of the cultural hub of Marco’s community, the Marco Island Center for the Arts sets up shop, showcasing multiple artists and mediums. Farmers market starts

By CBN Staff What has become one of the most popular weekly events in season on Marco Island is now even better. The Marco Island Farmers’ Market kicks off on Wednesday, November 7. Every Wednesday, from 7:30 AM until 1:30 PM, the freshest fruits, veggies and flowers can be found at Veterans Community Park. This year’s Farmers’ Market hosts 90 vendors, all bringing their unique gifts to the table. Spices, smoothies, artwork and fresh hot food are also a part of the line-up. The Artwork of Phyllis Pransky

On exhibit until December 3, 2011 Phyllis Pransky’s paintings aim to capture the inspiring opalescent, luminous healing light of Marco Island and Southwest Florida, ultimately bringing her paintings to life. The meditative quality of the paintings invites you to enter each scene while her paint brush aims at the viewer’s heart and intellect.
