Marco Islanders have been waiting patiently for a number of months now as the opening of the Joey D’s Italian Restaurant and Bar has been anticipated since the start of the year.
On Monday evening, July 17 at 5 PM their long wait will finally be over, as Joe DiPascali will return to the island where he began his first venture into the restaurant business almost two decades ago. This will mark his fourth location in Collier County, and patrons should not be disappointed in what they will find in the old location which was previously home to Porky’s Restaurant and Lounge at 701 Bald Eagle Drive.
“We have completely gutted the old location and have provided the island with a state-of-the-art facility which is second to none,” said Marty Kenney, a longtime management member with the Joey D’s staff. Kenney has strong roots here on Marco, having been raised here on the island and has helped to oversee the transformation of the tired old venue into a modern and world class eatery that will cater to Italian food lovers and sports fans.
The doors will open on Monday evening starting at 5 PM. Check back in the Friday edition of the Coastal Breeze News for more information regarding this and other breaking news around the island.
