A visit to a great hair stylist or nail technician always makes me feel like a million bucks, and if you are anything like me, finding a unique gem like that is priceless. So without further ado, I’d like to introduce you to Marco Island’s newest hair and nail salon: Jump!
“Even the name is fun,” say proud owners, Katie Schweighoefer and Peter Galluzzo. Michigan native, Schwieghoefer moved to Marco Island 12 years ago, and in addition to working in a salon here on the island, her 16 years of experience include owning a local tanning business. Galluzzo, who ran his own salon in Massachusetts, came to Marco Island in 2005, and has since worked as a hair stylist in two local shops.
They opened Jump! on Marco Island April 29, and will hold their official grand opening later this year. The two are confident that a young, fun, upbeat approach would set them apart.
“We wanted a new concept, something different and fun. No other salon on the island looks like this,” says Galluzzo.
The full service salon presents a fresh, energetic decor complemented by a relaxed pace; the stylists possess the vast experience and accompanying credentials to make you feel at ease; and patrons are warmly welcomed by the friendly owners and staff, who openly hold each other in the highest regard.
“Raymaris Valdes, our nail tech is amazing; she specializes in manicures, pedicures and nail art, as well as acrylics and gells. Sandy Rekar, our receptionist is amazing, too,” says Galluzzo, “And our stylist, Ashley Reitz, is absolutely wonderful.”
Jump! proudly offers a state of the art pedicure chair and a wide variety of quality product lines including Goldwell color, Davines, WINN and Rusk; each stylist using their personal favorite.
In the upcoming summer off-season, locals can take advantage of some great incentives, like 20% off the first visit, offered to both new and existing clients.
“They work so much during season, they never take time for themselves,” notes Schweighoefer, “Now, season is over, and kids are getting out of school; they can actually do something for themselves for a change.”
Jump is open Monday-Saturday, and walk-ins are welcome. For more information, call 239-394-JUMP (5867)
