On Saturday, March 22, the Marco Riders got together for an evening aboard the Marco Island Princess. The evening was arranged by long time member Marvin Tomlin.
There were 79 members and guests in attendance.
After an excellent dinner and a fun door prize drawing, there was a surprise award. Carmen Dasti was honored by his fellow riders for his leadership and unending loyalty to the group and its members. Dan Honahan made the presentation citing Dasti’s willingness to help everyone and always being a “Stand-Up” kind of guy! Honahan added, “He’s got a heart bigger than anyone I know and is always there to lend a hand, and we all wanted to show him our appreciation for all he does.” Dasti was speechless and moved by the presentation.
Honahan also recognized and thanked various members of the group including members who are veterans of Vietnam as well as Korea.
The Marco Riders meet for a breakfast ride on Sunday mornings at the CVS parking lot and leave at 9 a.m. The group currently has members of all ages, all walks of life and from all areas of the country as well as Canada.
