At just 22 years old, Lucy LaCava says she is living her dream. She always wanted to own her own dance studio, and on January 6, she opened Center Stage Dance Studio.
She offers classes to suit all ages — including Zumba, yoga, Cardio and Ball fitness. “From ballet to ballroom, hip hop to jazz, you name it we offer it,” says Lacavas.
Her instructors already each have their own good reputation. Michelle Jordan, is certified in four types of Zumba, and has a rather large following here on the island. Kathy Kurtz heads up the yoga classes and fuzion. Nick Alfieri, LaCava’s brother, does the cardio classes. He has trained with UFC facilities and was an MMA fighter in London.
Dance has always been LaCava’s passion. She began at the age of three, and has spent time with a professional dance company as well as instructed. Born in Manchester, England, she studied dance at the Brit School for Performing Arts in London.
LaCava visited Marco Island with her parents and when they returned home, she stayed behind. She married two years ago and has since made Marco her home.
