Friends of Tigertail Beach will host its Sixth Breakfast & Birds event entitled, “Identify our Winter Wading Birds and Shorebirds” on Saturday, January 11, 2014. Please bring your breakfast, binoculars and enthusiasm!

There will be a presentation reviewing the physical and behavioral characteristics of the respective birds as an aid to identification at the Tigertail beach kiosk at 9 AM. Following the presentation, the FOT behaviorists will lead the group along the lagoon edge in hopes of seeing and identifying many of the birds that were discussed.

Please bring your friends and family to this fun and informative event!

In addition to the Breakfast & Bird events, FOT is involved in Tigertail Beach clean ups. The most recent clean up took place on December 6, 2013. Eight people collected eight bags of trash. In addition to the usual debris, the most remarkable item found was a full bottle of wine!

The Friends of Tigertail is a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to the stewardship of the unique, rich natural area that comprises Tigertail Beach and Sand Dollar Spit, and to educating the public about these places.  If you are interested in joining the organization, please contact Joseph Parisi, Membership Chair, at 781-864-2392.  For more information, please visit the website: www.friendsoftigertail.com.
