In 2002, a group of passionate volunteers saw a need to offer local assistance to cancer stricken families and individuals whose lives were being turned upside down—financially and emotionally.
Cancer Alliance of Naples (CAN) was formed to help our neighbors and friends—in Collier and Lee County—through the most difficult times anyone could imagine.
Facing a world of unknowns and forced to make life-changing medical decisions, CAN is there to help—often when cancer victims and their families have no where else to turn.
In celebration and support of the strength and resilience of cancer patients, survivors, and their caregivers, Physicians Regional Healthcare System and Saks Fifth Avenue have teamed up to present the fifth annual ‘Pink Party.’
Though October may specifically be designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, cancer comes in many forms—and CAN supports them all.
According to Renee Palin, Marketing Manager for Physicians Regional Healthcare System, “CAN is a Collier County institution. So many in Southwest Florida depend on their generosity and care. We are so pleased that all proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Cancer Alliance of Naples.”
Billed as a “festival of pink,” the Pink Party will take over the entire Saks Fifth Avenue showroom on October 17th from 5:30 – 9:00pm.
Palin adds, “This is the fifth consecutive year we have chosen to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month—and women’s health—with our Pink Party event. Saks has been an exceptional partner—they even have ‘fifth’ in their name.”
According to CAN President Dr. Chaundre Cross, “The Pink Party was a must-attend event last year and this year will be even bigger and better.”
The 2013 Pink Party promises to blend food, prizes and giveaways, DJ entertainment, and fabulous shopping with important wellness advice, neighborhood charity, and complimentary health screenings.
“Promoting awareness empowers both women and men to learn about preventative measures and take a more active role in their healthcare choices. With the Pink Party, we’re making health and wellness education fun,” says Palin.
Cost to attend the event is $25 per person; however, all guests will receive a Saks Fifth Avenue $25 gift card upon arrival. All food and drink are included and complimentary valet parking is also provided.
Plus, the decision to merge Saks’ ongoing national program, Keys to the Cure (KTTC), with Physicians Regional’s annual Pink Party promises guests an even bigger bang for their buck.
“We are so excited to partner with Physicians Regional because of their very successful history, their wonderful attendance record, and the excitement that’s always associated with the Pink Party. Plus, having one big event gives everyone the maximum amount of exposure,” says Kellie Jacoby, Marketing Director of Saks Fifth Avenue in Naples. “We’re expecting over 700 guests at this year’s event which is extraordinary.”
Cross adds, “Physicians Regional and Saks’ commitment is allowing for a wonderful fundraising event in honor of Cancer Alliance of Naples. This very special event promotes women’s health with a variety of presentations from medical professionals and women’s health services.”
Pre-Pink Party exclusives include advanced sales of KTTC’s $35 Pucci-designed t-shirt and $89 mammograms with Physicians Regional donating $10 from every appointment completed in October to Bosom Buddies.
Surprises throughout the evening include an unbelievable jewelry raffle, theme-inspired hors d’oeuvres and refreshments, plus special displays throughout the store.
With Physicians Regional and Saks Fifth Avenue at the helm—it could be said—this year’s Pink Party may well be the healthiest shopping trip you’ll ever make.
Saks Fifth Avenue is located in the Waterside Shops, 5415 Tamiami Trail North.
All health-conscious men and women are all invited to “get their pink on” and RSVP by calling the Pink Party Hotline at 239-592-7861.
