Whether you’re a chili cook or an avid chili taster, you will definitely want to come on down to the Marco Island Fire Rescue Foundation’s First Annual Jerry Adams Chili Cook-off. Held on Saturday, October 12, the event will take place at CJ’s on the Bay in the Esplanade between 2 and 5 PM. Chili cooks from all walks of life will enter their chili creations in either the Individual or Professional Category.
If you’re a cook, you’ll be happy to know there is no entry fee! You should bring a minimum of three gallons of chili made prior to the event. You will have to bring your own heating/warming equipment such as a crockpot and extension cords (minimum 10 feet). CJ’s on the Bay will provide side dishes. Every chili entry has an opportunity to win a People’s Choice Award for the Best Tasting Chili and a $200 Mutual of Omaha Bank gift card in each category.
If you’re a chili fanatic, or simply want to attend for fun and a good cause, the entry fee is $15. You will receive a FREE Marco Island Fire Rescue Foundation mug. Besides trying plenty of chili, there will be happy hour drink prices, raffle prizes and LIVE MUSIC! For more information, call Marty Roddy at 394-4832 or Dianna Dohm at 331-0908.
