On Monday, March 11th, Mike Malloy, local landscape, garden and butterfly expert, presented a power point program to Marco Island’s Calusa Garden Club. Prior to the program, Mike autographed copies of his books for garden club members. The program, entitled “Florida Friendly Gardening & Landscaping” showed the effects of too much water and fertilizer on Florida Friendly plants.
During the business meeting, plans for the club’s annual standard flower show, Asian Fusion, were finalized. The show was held on March 16th and 17th from 10:00 until 4:00 at the Marco Island Center for the Arts, 1010 Winterberry.
The next meeting will be the club’s annual spring luncheon, held at the Yacht Club. Officers will be installed and a short program will be held prior to the luncheon.
The Calusa Garden Club usually meets on the second Monday of the month from October through April in the Fellowship Hall of Wesley United Methodist Church, 350 South Barfield.
