The hugely popular Kiwanis Club Car Show will be pulling in on Sunday, February 17th to the Marco Island Healthcare Center at 40 Heathwood Drive. Last year’s car show topped out at 180 vehicles! This year organizer John DeRosa is expecting 200 vehicles, “There is no charge to display your vehicle and we have trophies for 20 classes.”
Besides enjoying some true classic vehicles and fine racing machines and rubbing elbows with other car enthusiasts, you will be entertained by Steve Reynolds, the Marco Island Academy guitar group and the Marco Players young actors. The $5 spectator donation gets you a chance to see these vehicles up close and personal, and often with a chance to discuss engines and bodies with the vehicles owner. Great photo opportunities abound!
The popular $6 table with purses, costume jewelry, and an array of other items will be set up for the shopping pleasure of the ladies while the gentlemen have a chance to ‘talk car’ with the guys. Hamburgers, hot dogs, Italian sausage, soda and water will be available for purchase and various vendors will also be on site. The Italian American club will be on site selling cakes, pastries and preparing Zeppoles (Italian pastries).
Proceeds go to support the charitable giving of the Kiwanis Club of Marco Island, in particular, scholarships, the Reading is Fun program and more.
