A Senior Master Sergeant in the US Air Force, Ladurini recognized the support of Fire Rescue Chief Murphy and Division Chief Byrne, by presenting to them the Tradition of the Coin, an Air Force practice carried down since World War I. “We give coins to the people that have taken care of us,” he explained. In a campaign with no surprises Collier County Commissioner Donna Fiala easily won re-nomination for District Seat Number 1. With over two-thirds of the vote Commissioner Fiala swamped Steve Cosgrove. Commissioner Fiala’s campaigning is not quite over. She will face Russell Kish, a candidate with no party affiliation in the November general election. Commissioner Fiala is expected to win that race, but is taking no chances. She’ll be out campaigning as vigorously as ever.
