The Shelter for Abused Women & Children hosts Give Back – Fill a Pack, a back-to-school drive ensuring the nonprofit organization’s younger participants have the supplies they need for school.
“It’s crucial we have enough supplies not only for the first day of school, but for children who access our services throughout the year ahead,” explains The Shelter’s Resource & Volunteer Coordinator Rebecca Grabau.
Needed school supplies include:
- Gift Certificates: Wal-Mart, Target, Payless for back-to-school clothing needs (i.e. uniforms, shoes, socks, underwear)
- School clothes
- School shoes
- Lunch boxes & thermoses
- Black & red pens
- Pocket folders with prongs
- White board markers
- Washable markers
- Glue sticks
- Loose leaf paper (wide-rule)
- Primary color paint set
- Pencil boxes
- Construction paper
- 2″ binders
- Writing tablets & composition notebooks
- 1, 3, 5-subject notebooks
- Pencil sharpeners
Materials will be distributed by August 1, 2012. Please drop off donations at Options Thrift Shoppe, 968 Second Avenue North, open Monday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
