The Marco Island Police and Marco Island Fire Rescue Departments are co-sponsoring the 2012 Youth Police & Fire Academy the week of June 11th. This one week hands-on course will give youths an inside look at law enforcement, the fire service, emergency medical response, and much more. Designed for students in 6th through 8th grade, students will learn and participate in team building exercises, crime scene techniques, fire extinguisher demonstrations, vessel safety, CPR, hose line operations, firearms safety, Taser demonstration, fire tower drills, rescue tool operations, defensive tactics, internet safety and negotiate an obstacle course.
