LCEC returns $7.2 million in final equity

This week LCEC distributed $7.2 million to memberships that have been closed since 2004. LCEC has returned more than $191 million to customers over the years, which is among the best for the 800 cooperatives in the United States. Next month, LCEC will distribute another $5.7 million to current and inactive customers in the form of checks and credits to their account. Equity is the value of the investment customers/members make in LCEC. Customers provide a portion of the capital necessary to operate the business through the payments they make each month. Street Lighting Service Changes Planned During Daylight Savings Time

The Transportation Engineering Department will again during Daylight Savings Time turn off streetlights along several county roadway corridors, a program that was initiated in 2009 to save taxpayer dollars.  Through this program last year, the county realized electrical energy cost savings of $96,000.00.  Over the past three years of the program, the county did not experience any noticeable increase in traffic related incidents while the streetlights were out of service nor any increase in electrical component failures after the streetlights were restored to a normal operational configuration. Physicians Regional Healthcare System Redesigns Bonita Springs Site & Will Expand Primary and Specialty Medical Care Services

Physicians Regional Healthcare System (PRHS) has redesigned and remodeled its Walden Medical Center in Bonita Springs, Fla., and will expand Primary and Specialty Care services there in 2012. The 22,000 square-foot medical facility — known as Bonita II — has a redesigned 10,000 square-foot first floor that features new medical suites, procedure rooms and common areas. A 3,000 square-foot Imaging Suite offers high-quality diagnostic imaging.  PRHS installed a Siemens 1.5 MRI and a new Siemens digital x-ray system was installed. Calusa Garden Club Finishes Season with Spring Luncheon

On Tuesday, April 17, 44 members of Calusa Garden Club met at the Island Country Club for their annual spring luncheon. The theme this year revolved around an English tea with most members wearing “crazy hats.” The event was highlighted by a contest for the “craziest hat” which was judged by five members of the Island Club’s staff. New officers were installed, a scholarship to Camp Wekiva was awarded to Tommie Barfield fifth grader, Avorie Anderson, and words and gifts of appreciation were presented. Co-Ed Softball 4-26

In week two of co-ed softball on another beautiful night at the ball field as the smell of fresh hot dogs carried over the dugouts, Kretch’s notched another victory this time against the Snook Inn 21-6. Led by AJ Parker ( 4 hits) and Joe Pitrone (2 hits) each with HR’s  Kretch’s  bats were too much for the Snook Inn to handle.
