His soul went to heaven on April 2nd 2012 following a long illness but his memory lives on. He leaves behind his wife of 48 years (Lorraine Blouin), a daughter Susan (Mrs. Anthony Puleo), a son Kenneth and (Mrs. Stephanie LeFrancois), 3 grandchildren (Amanda, Shayne and Kayti), 3 sisters, a brother-predeceased and several nieces and nephews. Samuel (Sam) P. Willits, born 29 July 1924, loving husband of Florence, father of Linda Sandlin, Steven and David Willits, and resident of Barrington, IL since 1961, died unexpectedly April 5, 2012 in Marco Island, FL, where he enjoyed many winter seasons. Sam is a University of Michigan graduate, served as a Navy officer during WWII, and co-founded the Lutheran Church of the Atonement in Barrington, IL. He was a 76 years old and is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Patricia, loving daughters Margaret Stouffer of Potomac Maryland, Karen Crines and son-in-law James of Ft.
