Postal Service Issues Colorful New Stamps All Have Specific Values

The U.S. Postal Service has issued a number of stamps celebrating several American icons—from 19th Century weather vanes to colorful Hawaiian shirts and helpful dogs. Library of Congress to Present Training Program in Naples for the Veterans History Project

Second Annual Tour de Marco

The YMCA and the Marco Bike Path Committee are coming together for the second year in a row for their Tour de Marco bike ride. The event, held April 1st, will begin and end at the Greater Area Marco Island YMCA, 101 Sandhill Street. All are encouraged to participate in this fundraising event for the YMCA. Tour de Marco is split into two different bike rides. The 30-mile ride begins at 8:00 AM and the 15-mile ride will start at 9:00 AM. Information Night and Open Enrollment period for the 2012/13 school year

Parents and Guardians of current fifth graders and students are invited to attend an Information Night at Marco Island Charter Middle School on Thursday, March 8 from 6:00 to 7:00. The program will begin the enrollment process for the 2012-13 school year and will include a description of the school’s academic and extracurricular programs, a tour of the campus and the application process. Publix Super Markets to Create Distribution Center in Orlando

Governor Rick Scott announced Publix Super Markets plans to create a one-million-square-foot distribution center in Orlando with a $188.5 million capital investment. Plans also call for staffing 156 new jobs during the center’s first three years of operation. “It is always good news for Florida when a company expands and increases its investment here,” said Governor Rick Scott. “Publix has a well-known history as one of Florida’s leading corporate citizens and contributors to our economic growth.” Publix is working to make the new refrigerated distribution center operational by fourth quarter 2014, according to Richard Schuler, Publix’s vice president of distribution. ...
