Carol Cruise was given a vision from God of walking around the perimeter of the United States and to pray for our country. The mission: to claim this country for God’s purpose and to share His love with all people.
The walk began on January 1st, 2002 when Carol took her first step north, leaving South Beach Miami, Florida. A three-foot cross was placed at the southern most part of the beach to mark the start of the venture. She continues to plant a small cross every mile she walks.
The smaller crosses are left to mark Carol’s progress and to spread the message of God’s Love. Each cross has a card attached, explaining the mission and asking that the cross be passed on. To date, Carol has walked 10,176 miles.
Carol lost her right leg due to a medical misdiagnosis and a subsequent injury in surgery. She had to undergo 15 operations over a three-year period in attempts to save her leg. The result was amputation. During this time, she felt tremendous strength from God as He carried her through the ordeal.
Since the amputation, Carol has encouraged other amputees and their families. She encourages “differently-abled” people to focus on their God-given abilities.
