Signs of the emerging new Jolley Bridge are beginning to appear as work continues on the Marco River. Since January, FIGG/Johnson Bros. has been building the sub-structure and relocating utilities. Now three new columns are in place; the third is seen here wrapped in black. Also visible is the white concrete footer of the fourth column. The stimulus project, that is estimated to be completed at the end of 2011, will include 12-foot travel lanes, a six-foot inside shoulder, a 10-foot outside shoulder, an eight-foot sidewalk on the west side, and lighting.
